A three-day fair on diabetes, the first of its kind in Dhaka city, will kick off on April 11 aiming to create awareness about the polygenic disease among people.
The fair will be held at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh with the expected participation of doctors, experts, nutritionists, and patients, organisers of the event told a press conference at the National Press Club in Dhaka city on Monday.
Former cultural minister Asaduzzaman Noor is scheduled to inaugurate the event as the chief guest.
Congressia, a non-profit that works on raising awareness about diabetes, is organising the event.
Its Chief Executive Dr Fazle Rabbi Khan, also the chief coordinator of the fair, spoke at the press conference, disclosing details about the event.
The fair features 14 sessions with discussions on 25 subjects. A total of 50 doctors and some experts will be among the discussants.
Organisers of the event have called on all and sundry to attend the event to know how to take early protection to fight the disease.
