Stress on digital healthcare at affordable cost

Experts and stakeholders stressed the need for telehealth, point of care services and accountable health care for coordination of comprehensive care at an affordable cost for the people of Bangladesh.

They also called for expediting both public and private efforts for promoting and transforming the digital healthcare facilities in the country to bring down the geographic and cost barriers manifold for patients.

Their call and views came at a conference on Accountable HealthCare and Point of Care Services held at a city hotel on Friday night.

Diabetic Association of Bangladesh, SureCare, an accountable Health Care initiative and CTHealth Ltd jointly organised the conference.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni spoke on the occasion as the chief guest.

Speaking at the function, Dr Dipu Moni said the country’s healthcare system is being improved by using new and modern digital means.

By doing this, Bangladesh will go far in the coming days, she said, adding that digital healthcare would help people receive timely treatment and protect them from untimely death.

Sayef Uddin, Secretary General, Diabetic Association of Bangladesh, Prof. Rashid-E-Mahbub, Joint Secretary General, Diabetic Association of Bangladesh, Farook Azam Khan, Director, CT Health Ltd., Rabeya Khatun, Director, Administration, CT Health Ltd., Dr Lia Khatun, Medical Service & Technology Liaison, CT Health Ltd were present and gave their speeches at the function.
