Quanzhou gets it first dialysis centre

The first independent dialysis centre was launched in Quanzhou, (China) last week, according to a global media report on Saturday.

Fresenius Medical College (FMC), a global, market leader in dialysis took the move to set the centre at the Chinese city.

"The opening of our first independent and stand-alone Fresenius Medical Care dialysis centre in Quanzhou is another important milestone for us on the way to further expand our business in China", said Harry de Wit, CEO of Fresenius Medical Care Asia Pacific.

"By working closely with the Fujian government, we built the centre in order to perfectly meet the needs of kidney patients in the region."

Located in the Licheng District of Quanzhou, the centre offers treatment at 50 dialysis stations. Multiple dialysis modalities from high-flux haemodialysis to haemodiafiltration are provided.

The centre launched as Fresenius Kidney Care Quanzhou Dialysis Centre aims to provide high quality and safe dialysis as well as other related medical services for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease.
