Impulse Hospital has inaugurated the country’s first complete stroke unit on the occasion of World Stroke Day at Tejgaon in the city today, said a press release.
The hospital also organised a symposium aimed to reduce the risk of stroke, increase awareness and use of modern technology.
Information Secretary Mortuza Ahmed was present as the chief guest, while Principal Officer of Press Information Department Begum Kamrun Nahar was present as special guest.
Managing Director of Impulse Hospital Professor Dr Jahir Al Amin, Stroke Neurologist Dr Md Shahidullah (Sobuj), Dr Moniruzzaman and Dr Subash Kanti Dey were present among others.
The stroke unit will provide services to both new and old patients round the clock.
