GP commits 50,000 professional-grade imported PPEs and 10,000 PCR kits

In the face of a global outbreak of COVID-19; Bangladesh Government along with different private and public authorities have been working tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of the people. Grameenphone, in collaboration with a2i & the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has been driving mass awareness through various initiatives.  

 

As a continuation of this joint effort, Grameenphone has confirmed to source and handover 50,000 unit medical-grade professional PPE (protective coverall, n95 mask, gloves, goggles) and 10,000 PCR Test Kits to the medical frontliners' in the selected hospital those are designated for corona treatment by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). These will protect the Health Professionals in the frontline & ICU duty battling the outbreak situation.

 

Mustafa Jabbar, Minister of Post and Telecommunication, commented, "We welcome Grameenphone's proactive effort to initiate this support during this difficult time, and I believe other companies will also come forward and stand beside the Government to tackle the COVID-19 outbreak to the best of their abilities."

No nation was ever ready to tackle this situation; I encourage all to come forward collectively in fighting back COVID-19 in this difficult time. Regarding this, Prof Abul Kalam Azad, Directorate General of Health Services, said, "Grameenphone approached us and showed proactive interest to support us in this situation. After consulting with us, they took the initiative to source and contribute medical-grade full PPE set to protect healthcare professionals who need to deal with Corona infected patients. It is good that they have also arranged a good number of PCR test kits."

 

Moreover, the Government of Bangladesh has been trying it's best to tackle the outbreak of Coronavirus. Various bold initiatives have been taken by the Government to curb the spread of the virus. Now is the time to bring every corporate and every citizen to come forward and face the situation together.
