To protect all who are working on the frontline- doctors and including health workers, Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi ( Bir Protik) has provided us with quality PPEs. We are grateful to him. Recently, the government has decided to give Covid-19 patients treatment in our hospital & we are taking preparation accordingly. On the other hand, on behalf of the National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital (NIDCH), Head of the Respiratory Medicine Department, Professor Dr. Md. After receiving the 90 pieces of PPE for the hospital’s Medicine and Surgery unit, Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rauf said, “Bangladesh is on the verge of Coronavirus pandemic, as the country is seeing a record daily spike of covid-19 positive cases. Under the current circumstances, a public holiday has been announced. In our hospital we are always providing services for the patients suffering from various respiratory ailments including, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. Same symptoms of these diseases can also be seen amongst the Covid-I9 patients. And so our hospital is in utmost vulnerable state. In this critical moment, Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi ( Bir Protik) provided PPE in view of the safety of all health workers, including doctors, for the successful treatment of Covid-19 patients. We also got to know that, with his initiative, the first private RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction) lab is soon to set up to test the presence of coronavirus cases in the country. Thus, as a citizen of Bangladesh, I personally thank him for his noble initiative.”
“We hope that other private organizations in the country will also come forward in this dire situation to combat Coronavirus pandemic” he added.
