Academics and dentists have praised the increased cooperation between China and Europe on Esthetic Dentistry on the sidelines of an international congress on this field, which concluded Saturday.
The 15th International Congress of Esthetic Dentistry gathered more than 1,500 dental professionals during the past three days.
The congress was organised by the Romanian Society of the Esthetic Dentistry, a member of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Florin Lazarescu, a founding member of the Romanian Society of the Esthetic Dentistry and president of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry praised the increased exchanges between European dental professionals and their Chinese peers.
"The flow is in both directions and the interest is mutual. I noticed the interest of Chinese doctors to attend meetings in Europe, but also our interest as lecturers at European level to be invited to conferences in China," Lazarescu said.
According to him, Chinese producers play a more and more important role in the global dental products market.
The Chinese presence in the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry is just the first brick of the house, noted Lazarescu.
Lazarescu was agreed by Chinese specialist in Esthetic Dentistry Wu Minxuan, who said that many Chinese academics and professionals have joined the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry in recent years.
"Dental medicine has been much developed in Romania, compared to other countries in the world, especially in digital aesthetic medicine," added Wu, who studied dental medicine years ago in Bucharest.
Wu believes that the future of dentistry lies in digitalisation, which was one of the most interesting themes of this year's congress, reports Xinhua.
"The future of dentistry is digital. We attended presentations on the new CAD/CAM technology which allows rapid dental restorations with using digital manufacturing techniques," said Wu.
