Motorcycling aspirant crowned Miss World BD

Jannatul Nayeem Avril, a motorcycling aspirant from the port city of Chittagong, has been adjudged as Miss World Bangladesh 2017, report agencies.

However, the pageantry has not been held without a howler. One of the judges allege that the Miss World Bangladesh result has been manipulated during announcement.

Actress-singer Shampa Reza, one of the six members of the judges' panel for the contest in Bangladesh, on Saturday night said that the winner, Avril, was not among the two on her list, reports bdnews24.com.

“The result what was announced has no similarity with my one. There were two on my list. But the winner was not among them," Shampa Reza told the online newspaper.

She also claimed, "All the judges were of the same opinion."

The other five members of the judges' panel were magician Jewel Aich, fashion designer Bibi Russell, photographer Chanchal Mahmood, corporate personality Rubaba Dowla and IT personality Sonia Bashir Kabir.

The winner of the competition will represent Bangladesh for the first time in the global Miss World contest.

The 67th World Beauty Pageants is scheduled to kick off in China in December.

The grand finale of Lovello Miss World Bangladesh pageant was held at the Nabarattri Hall of International Convention City-Bashundhara (ICCB).

The grandiose event started off with mesmerising dance performed by Indian actress and model Shina Chohan.

Later, the top ten contestants enthralled the audience with their opinions mostly on women empowerment.
