Film fest at DU to end Saturday  

 The six-day film festival, which begun at TSC Auditorium of Dhaka University on Monday, will end on Saturday.

Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) organised the event, marking the International Mother Language Day.

The 17th edition of the festival, titled 'Amar Bhasar Chalachitra' featuring 19 Bangladeshi films began with the screening of Mostofa Sarwar Farooki directed 'Doob'.

Alor Michhil, Shobdo and Halda will be screened on the final day at 10:00am, 12:45pm and 6:30pm, reports UNB.

Nine classic Bangla films and ten contemporary films are being screened at the festival while DUFS for the second time. A filmmaker will be honoured with Hiralal Sen Padak at the event.

Five Bangladeshi films 'Haldaa', 'Bhubhan Majhi', 'Khacha', 'Gohin Baluchar' and 'Rina Brown' will compete for the award.

DUFS has been organising the annual film festival with the slogan 'Sustha Chalachitra, Sustha Darshak' since its inception in 2000 to promote Bangla films and help change the taste of audiences and bring out more talented filmmakers.
