‘Boney M’ set to perform in Dhaka on July 13

The popular 1970s disco group “Boney M” is coming to Bangladesh to perform a musical performance titled “Bony M live in Dhaka”.

The world’s famous German origin musical band will perform on July 13, 2018 at the ‘Hall of Fame’ of Bangabandhu International Convention Center in the capital, said the organiser of the event.

Creinse Limited, a private company will host the one and half hour long musical event at 7 pm of the day, chief operating officer of Creinse, Kazi Faisal Ahmed briefed the media.

The tickets of the music event will be sold from July 7 and the prices of the tickets have been fixed at Tk 2000, 3500 and 4500.

Boney M was a Euro-Caribbean vocal group and the four original members of the group’s official line-up were Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett from Jamaica, Maizie Williams from Montserrat and Bobby Farrell from Aruba. The group was formed in 1976 and achieved popularity during the disco era of the late 1970s. Since the 1980s, various line-ups of the band have performed with different personnel, according a BSS report.

The band has sold more than 80 million records and is known for huge international hits such as “Daddy Cool”, “Ma Baker”, “Rasputin”, “Mary’s Boy Child – Oh My Lord”, “Rivers of Babylon”. It’s first album titled ‘Take the Heat off Me’ revealed in 1976 and the last album “Eye Dance” in 1985.
