The Center for Enterprise & Society (CES), a research centre at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), recently conducted a comprehensive online survey titled ‘CES COVID-19 Consumer Pulse Survey’.
A total of 651 urban working professionals, aged 25 years or above, were respondents of the survey that was aimed at assessing Bangladeshi consumer sentiments during the coronavirus crisis.
The survey results showed that 85 per cent people, after COVID-19, became unsure or pessimistic about the country’s economy.
The findings also revealed 84 per cent Bangladeshi urban consumers had to cut back on spending because of the countrywide shutdown, while at least 67 per cent experienced a drop in the incomes.
