East West University (EWU) and Swedish Institute Alumni Network in Bangladesh are jointly organising a three-day photography exhibition on the effects of gender equality in parenting in association with the Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka.
Charlotta Schlyter, Ambassador, Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka, and Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Adviser of EWU and Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, inaugurated the exhibition titled ‘Swedish Dads and Bangladeshi Babas’ at EWU Campus in Dhaka today (Tuesday), according to a media release.
They spoke on gender equality issues in parenting in Bangladesh and Sweden during a brief discussion session.
Mustafa Nizamul Aziz, Chairperson, Swedish Institute Alumni Network in Bangladesh delivered his welcome remarks on the occasion.
The exhibition is showcasing 25 photos of famous Swedish photographer Johan Bavman along with 22 photos of Bangladeshi photographers featuring fathers in care-giving roles.
The portraits of fathers who choose to stay home and spend time with their children and how their relationships with both their family members and their children change as a result are being displayed.
