IN time of 'New Normal', the online knowledge sharing events are happening all around the country as an outbreak of a pandemic has posed a serious economic challenge, not only in Bangladesh but also over the world. Being a part of the 'New Normal', East West University Investment and Finance Club arranged a workshop on the supply chain financing, one of the most relevant topics during pandemic, titled ‘The Supply Chain Finance - The Forefront of Global Trade’. Conducted by IDLC Finance Limited on July 10, 2020 over Google Meet, about 90 students from East West University came to know about practical roles of finance in supply chain management.
Rashed Hossain, head of supplier and Distributor Finance, IDLC Finance Limited and Md Mehedi Hasan, the credit in-charge, SDF and regional credit manager of IDLC Finance Limited were the speakers of this workshop. Their professional and practical knowledge about capital chain was truly helpful to understand the overall concept. The topics of this workshop were supply chain--function and related entities, distributor financing, how supply chain finance benefits the stakeholders, credit and mitigation factor, factoring product and distributing product, SCF-- prospect and challenges.
Leo Vashkor Dewri, the moderator of EWU Investment and Finance Club, and senior lecturer of BBA at East West University also attended the workshop and shared his opinion on the topic. He also answered all the queries of the participants along with the speakers.
The impressive number of enthusiastic participants made the workshop more fascinating by their interesting questions. The speakers answered all the queries with patience. The response of the audience stood up to the expectation as "Supply chain finance: The forefront of global trade" was a great success.
