Ajke.live is Bangladesh’s first live shopping platform, raised USD 50,000 from angel investor Mohammad Maaz Mamoon and won USD 5800 grant prize from the incubation program and started their journey of building eCommerce 2.0– Live commerce.
The journey started with two aspiring entrepreneur friends from North South University- Nasir Chowdhury (CEO) and Anik Ashraf (CMO). Before starting this venture, Nasir had 3 years of eCommerce entrepreneurship experience, 4 years of experience in the mobile technology industry through my family enterprise and was deployed in China and India to collaborate with technology conglomerates such as Gionee, Lava, Intex and more. Anik also had vast experience as an F-commerce entrepreneur for 4 years and had in-depth knowledge in Digital Marketing and Branding.
In their 4th year of university, NSU Startups next incubation program hosted its first cohort. They sought 2 more cofounders to form an all-rounder team and start their entrepreneurial journey through NSU Startups Next and found Turjoy Barai (COO) and Jahir Alam Raju (CTO). Jahir brought in his 7+ years experience as a technical team leader and working on video streaming projects for a renowned startup while Turjoy brought in his 4 years of National level event, company management experience and knowledge in finance.
They started with a B2B business model but pivoted to a B2C live shopping model once they unearthed its potential through 5 months of research and operations. Consumers are now becoming smarter and more aware of what quality to expect. They want to truly experience the product before buying, they want to see the product in motion. This was a gap they aimed to fill through Ajke.live.
Ajke.live is Bangladesh’s first live shopping platform aimed at providing interactive shopping and physical store experience. They provide authentic products to customers by broadcasting live sessions directly from wholesale stores and our studio. The live sessions are broadcasted on our platforms- Web app (www.ajke.live), upcoming mobile app, and promote the sessions on social media channels. They deliver a shopping-in-motion experience to make them truly feel the product and seamlessly shop on their platform without the hassle of screenshots or complicated order procedures of f-commerce SMEs. Another way they stand unique globally is through their decentralised business model which is going live from different store locations while managing an efficient and coherent supply chain known as the hyper-commerce model.
