The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of BRAC University is set to organise a three-day International Conference on Energy and Power Engineering (ICEPE 2019) at its Savar campus.
Energy Advisor to Prime Minister Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury will inaugurate the conference as Chief Guest on Thursday at 10am.
Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Founder of BRAC University, also the chairperson of Board of Trustees, will be present at the opening ceremony.
The event is aimed at providing a platform to leading researchers, engineers and scientists in the areas of power and energy engineering, organisers said.
The conference will bring academicians and industry practitioners together to share their ideas and experiences among them and the future engineers of the country.
Eminent professors and experts from USA, UK, China, India, Australia and Bangladesh will conduct panel sessions and keynote talks on power and energy related topics.
In addition, the Vice Chancellor of BRACU Professor Vincent Chang will grace the event with his presence.
ICEPE 2019 started to call for papers from researchers nationally and internationally on December 10, 2018.
Thirty six papers have been selected to be presented in the conference. Among these, best papers will be awarded with certification and prize on the last day of the conference.
Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, Senior Secretary, Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, GoB will join the closing ceremony for distributing awards among the achievers.
