Hult Prize at JU on campus round held

The Grand Finale of the on-campus round of the Hult Prize, Jahangirnagar University, has been held.
On Saturday (February 04), the final round was held at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan Auditorium of the University.

Hult Prize is the world's largest student movement for creating new social enterprises which challenge young people from university to solve the world's most pressing issues through market-based, SDG-aligned, sustainable, and impact-centred startups.

At the beginning of the program, the guests addressed their welcome speech. Later, the competing teams presented their ideas under the guidance of Campus Director Arifa Sultana Ritu. Each team got 5 minutes to present their ideas and 5 minutes for the judges to ask them questions.

For the final round at the JU level, the top five teams were selected to pitch their business idea before the judges and the audience.

Team' Nakshi Kantha' won the honour of becoming the champion. The Champion team consisted of Farabi, Aishee, Adnan, Rohan, and Deepanwita. Apart from this, teams named 'Alur Chop' and 'Apocalypse' became the first and second runner-ups, respectively. The other two teams were 'We Showed Up' and 'What's Next'.

In the final round, the Judges were Md Shamsad Hasnine, Assistant Professor, Dept of Fashion Design and Technology, BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology, Bushra Shakil, NBL-Sales (Grameenphone), Rafsan Muhab Shams, Management Trainee-Finance, Unilever Future Leaders' League 2022 and Dr Bakhtiar Rana, Associate Professor, Institute of Business Administration, JU.

Arifa Sultana Ritu, the Campus Director, gave the concluding remarks saying, "Thanks to the whole team for putting in days and nights efforts in making the event successful. We have successfully completed the competition."

Professor Alamgir Kabir, Director of the Teacher-Student Center (TSC) of the University, Syed Khairul Hasan, Managing Director of Mentors, Mehedi Hasan Dipu, Lecturer of the Accounting and Information Systems Department of the University and others were present.

'Hult Prize', also known as the Nobel Prize for students, is the world's largest business venture competition. This year's theme was 'Redesigning Fashion', where almost 2000+ universities from 120+ countries participated.

Jahangirnagar University students have been organising this competition's on-campus round since 2018. It was the 5th season of the Hult Prize at Jahangirnagar University.
