Grameenphone signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) recently to bridge the gap between Industry and Academia and drive a series of initiatives in digital innovation.
The partnership will facilitate faculty members and students of BUP to get first-hand experience in digital innovation, said a statement.
They will get the opportunity to learn about practical and global standard product-service development endeavors being conducted by Grameenphone in various areas, including IoT-M2M, Cloud, Smart Services, Digital Services.
These learnings can serve as advanced learning and research opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion Michael Foley, CEO of Grameenphone said, ‘Bangladesh needs innovation and skilled manpower to overcome the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution. This collaboration between Grameenphone and Bangladesh University of Professionals will pave the way for the innovations needed for digital transformation while giving the students a chance to learn how the business world works and what is expected of them.’
This collaboration would be beneficial for both sides and would greatly enhance innovation through knowledge exchange and drive the Digital Transformation of Bangladesh.
Syed Tanvir Husain, Chief Human Resources Officer of Grameenphone and Brigadier General Abul Kashem Md Ibrahim, Ndc, Afwc, Psc, Registrar, BUP, signed the MoU on behalf of their organizations at a ceremony in BUP.
Major General Md Emdad-Ul-Bari, ndc, psc, te Vice Chancellor, BUP; Mr. Michael Foley, Chief Executive Officer, and Mr. Mahmud Hossain, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Grameenphone were also present in the programme.
