The Dhaka University Botany Alumni Association (DUBAA) has organised its fourth reunion and Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Curzon Hall premises of the university.
Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University (DU) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the programme as the chief guest on Friday, says a media release.
President of DUBAA Prof. Dr. Quazi Abdul Fattah presided over the inaugural function while President of the DUAA AK Azad addressed the programme as the special guests.
Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. M Imdadul Hoque also addressed the inaugural function as special guest, says a release.
Chairman of the Department of Botany of DU Prof. Dr. Rakha Hari Sarker delivered welcome address while General Secretary of DUBAA Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Bashar gave vote of thanks.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman called upon the alumni to play an effective role to promote academic career of current students of the university.
He recalled the outstanding contributions of the DU alumni to socio-economic development in the country.
The Vice-Chancellor hoped that the social activities of the alumni would be continued in the days to come.
