BUP to organise 'Devthon 3.0' for the third time

Devthon 3.0 is a flagship event of the Development Leaders’ Club, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP DLC), which will organise ‘Devthon 3.0,’ a case-solving competition. It intends to bring out the development interventions by young enthusiasts for the third time on the BUP campus.

The event is scheduled to commence from 16th-17th October 2022. It aims to involve young aspiring thinkers to develop innovative ideas that need greater attention.

Last year’s mega event, Devthon 2.0, was powered by BRAC, which steered the competition to be launched on a national scale, with a total of 35 teams from all over Bangladesh. Out of these, only 10 successful teams made it through the online screening round.

The screening round was followed by the Second Round, where the selected 10 teams were to prepare a Project Proposal. From there, 5 teams were selected for the Final Round to compete for the 100k prize money. A team full of development enthusiasts from BUP became the champion.

This year the event will be much bigger as ‘The Asia Foundation’ is helping to steer the mega event to launch at a national, with more teams competing to prove their development enthusiasm in front of the renowned development practitioners.

For the first time, they are incorporating a segment of Development Poster Presentation for the undergrad students. They will get the platform to present their ideas and projects in front of renowned policymakers for the chance to make them become a reality.

The grand finale will be held on 17th October 2022 at Bijoy Auditorium in Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) in the presence of Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, PhD, Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh University of Professionals, who will be the Special Guest of the event.

The panel of Judges will constitute top-tier personnel from various Development Institutions. The total prize money would be worth 200,000 BDT.

Development Sector problems are critical, especially in a developing world with diverse problems that need our dire attention. Even if these competitions are new, they can be constructive as a source of learning and practice of gearing up young participants for future challenges.
