BALID Chairman Dr Rezaul laid to rest

BALID Chairman and librarian of Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in Gazipur Dr Mirza Mohd Rezaul Islam was laid to eternal rest after Esha prayers at a graveyard in city’s Mirpur area on Friday.

Islam, who was undergoing treatment at the intensive-care unit (ICU) of an Uttara hospital in the city, breathed his last at 12:10 pm on Friday. He was 60.

On March 11, he was admitted to the hospital after he suffered a massive stroke. He is survived by his wife, two sons, well-wishers and a host of admirers, reports BSS.

His first namaj-e-janaza was held at Dhaka University central mosque after Jumma prayers followed by the second one at Mirpur.

Dr Omar Jah, acting vice-chancellor of IUT, a subsidiary organ of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Bangladesh Association of Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID) leaders, professionals of library science and colleagues attended the janaza at DU mosque.
