Increase investment in education and health sectors

Experts in a post-budget discussion recently put thrust on increasing investment in health and education sectors which will help the country attain its desired growth.

They were participating in an online roundtable on the national budget 2020-21, jointly arranged by The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Bangladesh and the Daily Kaler Kantho.

Mamun Rashid, Managing Partner, PwC Bangladesh moderated the whole discussion. Md. Ahsanul Hoque Bashar, Country Manager of ACCA Bangladesh, Imdadul Haq Milan, Editor, the Daily Kaler Kantho were present on behalf of the two organizations.

Md. Shafaat Ali Choyon, Senior Business Development Manager, ACCA Bangladesh, gave the welcome note. And Abdullah Al Hasan, Marketing Manager, ACCA Bangladesh, Noor-E-Fayzun Nahar, Business Development Officer, ACCA Bangladesh were also present there.

Chartered Accountants Snehasish Barua and Zareen Mahmud Hosein, Professors of Dhaka University Dr. M. Abu Eusuf and Dr. Rumana Huque, Professor of Chittagong University Dr. Md. Salim Uddin, CFO & Company Secretary of Seven Rings Cement (Bangladesh) Ltd, Md. Kausar Alam, Partner of ACE Advisory Seezan Mumith Choudhury, Tax Partner of A. Qasem & Co. Chartered Accountants Muhammad Abu Hanif Meah, MD of International Distribution Company Bangladesh (Pvt.) Ltd. Ashraf Bin Taj, Former Deputy CFO of Grameenphone Mustafa Alim Aolad and PwC officials Yamen Jahangeer, Md Fuad Uddin Khan and Kazi Mujahid Ul Islam joined the discussion.

Md. Ahsanul Hoque Bashar, Country Manager of ACCA Bangladesh, emphasizes to ensure increasing investment in the education sector as well as creating a world-class framework for education and bringing automation in all government sectors.

Imdadul Haq Milan, Editor of Kaler Kantho, praised the government for the various steps taken to tackle the ongoing pandemic. He hopes to overcome the crisis soon.
