The United Arab Emirates (UAE) wants to invest in the food processing sector of Bangladesh.

Humayun said there is an excellent investment-friendly environment in the country due to political stability and the government is providing all sorts of supports to the investors.

“Bangladesh has enough lands for setting up new industries. Power generation is also enough to meet the demand of industries,” he added.

Humayun said the UAE investors can invest in any sector individually or in joint venture. In this regard, the Industries Ministry will provide all kinds of supports to the investors.

The industries minister urged the UAE investors to invest in the country’s food processing sector for enjoying the huge opportunities of establishing international standard food processing lab and cold storage.

Saed Mohammed Al Mheiri said a certification institution of the UAE will run its activities in Bangladesh for ensuring international standard in the country’s food processing sector.

Among others, Additional Secretary of the Industries Ministry Begum Parag was present at the meeting.
