The National Board of Revenue (NBR) will receive individual tax returns until December 2 as the last date of submission, November 30, is a weekly holiday.
NBR Member (income tax admin) Zia Uddin Mahood said the last date for submitting income tax returns was fixed on November 30, reports BSS.
"But the date has now been extended till December 2 as November 30 is Friday, a weekly holiday," he said.
The NBR member also informed that the NBR will not observe the income tax week this year which was observed in last two years in the last week of November.
However, the tax officials in the capital and across the country were instructed to give all services from the tax offices like in the fairs, he added.
The NBR has realised about Tk 24.68 billion in taxes from the weeklong tax fair held across the country from November 13 to 19 this year.
About 4,87,573 people submitted income tax returns and 39,743 people registered e-taxpayer identification numbers (e-TIN) in the fair.
