NBR, BB sign MoU to prevent exodus of money from the country

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is set to share information and extent international cooperation with a unit of the central bank to check money laundering from the country.

To this end, NBR and Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit of Bangladesh Bank (BB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sunday at NBR office.

Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Mijanur Rahman Joddar and NBR member (board administration) SM Ashfaq Hussain signed the Mou on behalf of respective sides.

NBR Chairman Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan and Deputy Governor of BB Abu Hena Mohd Razee Hassan were present at the signing ceremony.

According to the agreement, there will be a number of focal points and primary contact persons to exchange information.

Both sides also would organise training, seminars, symposiums under the MoU.
