Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal has directed the deputy commissioners (DC) to take initiatives for setting up new spots for tourists.
Shahjahan Kamal gave the directives during the first session of the second day of DC conference at the cabinet division on Wednesday, reports BSS.
The minister said new tourism spots could be set up at Chattogram’s Parki, Cumilla’s Lalmai, Barishal’s Durga Sagar Dighi, Noakhali’s Nijhum Dwip as well as some places of Faridpur and Sirajganj districts.
He said the government has taken projects to examine the possibility of constructing Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Airport and Khan Jahan Ali Airport at Bagerhat.
The minister said that master plans have been prepared to expand the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, elevate the Cox’s Bazar Airport into an international one and develop the existing airports of Sylhet, Barishal and Saidpur.
