Dutch organisation to ensure RMG workers' health

A development organisation of Netherlands is set to help in improving health and well-being of RMG workers in Bangladesh.

To this end, partnership agreements were signed between SNV Netherlands Development Organization and trade bodies and NGOs at a city hotel on Thursday.

Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS), Better Work Bangladesh, Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DBCCI), Fair Wear Foundation (FWF), Phulki, SAJIDA Foundation and UCEP Bangladesh signed the agreements, reports BSS citing a press release.

The collaboration was established under "Working with Women-II" project implemented by SNV Netherlands Development Organization with funding from Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN).

The project will work with 200 factories through different mechanisms and platforms to ensure healthcare, including sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) for garment workers.

Representatives from the participating organisations expressed their commitment and willingness to work together with SNV during the ceremony.
