Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Tuesday said cooperation within South Asian countries is very important for this region to develop including Bangladesh.
“South-south cooperation is very important. And Bangladesh is a good country for it,” said Muhith at a book publication ceremony in Dhaka Tuesday.
The Economic Relations Division organised the function where two books titled “South-south cooperation for financing SDGs” and “Engagement of NRBs in national development: strategies, challenges and way forward” were unveiled.
He said since the developed world has decreased their investments for the development for the poor and under developed countries, the South-South cooperation is very important for Bangladesh.
Besides, the investments to Bangladesh from the Non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) could be very helpful for developing the country.
Country Director of UNDP Mr Sudipto Mukerjee said huge investments in China and India is coming from their person, who lives across the country as the non-residents.
Bangladesh has a huge scope of getting investments from non-resident Bangladeshis, he added.
