President Md Abdul Hamid has urged the country's business leaders to create new entrepreneurs and explore new business areas for the sake of the country's economy and the people.
Terming trade and investment the main component of socio-economic development, he also requested the business leaders to promote it.
The President was talking to a seven-member delegation of the International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh (ICCB) led by its president Mahbubur Rahman.
They called on him at Bangabhaban in the city on Wednesday.
During the meeting, President Abdul Hamid praised the role of chambers including ICCB.
The ICCB president briefed the President on activities of the ICCB.
He informed the President of the forthcoming Asia- Pacific Conference on Financing Inclusive and Sustainable Development to be held on December 10-12.
Mr Rahman said that the conference would focus on exploring a new financial landscape for Asia and the Pacific.
He also mentioned that this year the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is having the centenary and silver jubilee celebration of the ICCB.
Executive board members of ICCB AK Azad, Aftab ul Islam, Mir Nasir Hossain, Anwar-Ul-Alam Chowdhury (Parvez), Md Fazlul Hoque and its secretary general Ataur Rahman were among the delegates.
