Laughter is the best medicine

Laughter is the best medicine

WE know great people terming laughter as a positive cure from health hazards. There are others who said a good laugh heals a lot of hurts and is a mighty good thing which is rather too scarce these days. While some others were of the opinion that a good laugh is like sunshine in a house.

As we laugh, stress hormone in our body decreases and immunising and infection-fighting antibodies increase. So when we laugh, we feel good and happy. 'Laughter is the best medicine' is a proverb that needs no justification. As we laugh, we spell confidence.  A smile is a curve that sets everything straight. A smile starts on the lips, a grin spreads to the eyes, a chuckle comes from the belly; but a good laugh bursts forth from the soul, overflows, and bubbles all around, say another group of scholars.

Our sense of humour can help us lead a better and cheerful life. There are many countries in the world where they have laughter clubs. These are places where the members of the club meet and they just literally laugh away their time. We should read jokes, watch funny movies so that we can have some good laugh at the end of the day and finish our day with a happy mood. Plato once said 'even the gods love jokes'.

Here is a joke I would like to share with my fellow readers for a hearty laugh. A lady asked a boy, "what are your parents' names?" The boy replied, "My father's name is Laughing, my mother's name is Smiling." The lady said, "Are you kidding?" The boy replied, "No, Kidding is my brother. I am Joking."
