2,439 buses were registered with Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) in the first eight months of the current calendar year.
Of them, 2,052 buses were registered in Dhaka, according to a data provided by the transport regulator.
The data also revealed that 2,755 buses were registered in 2018 and 3,760 in 2017.
