Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) realised Tk 3.0 million as fines from different people for violating traffic rules on Wednesday.
Besides, a total of 6,804 cases were also filed against different modes of vehicles for violating traffic rules, DMP said in a statement on Sunday.
The traffic police dumped 19 vehicles and wrecked 973 others.
Apart from this, 959 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 151 for using hydraulic horns, 28 for using hooters and beacon lights, and 11 others for using tinted glasses.
For traffic violations by motorcycle riders, the traffic division filed 2,236 cases and seized 198 motorcycles.
Also, 133 motorcyclists faced cases for using mobile phones while riding, said the statement. [email protected]
